I’ve seen so many pop-up cards lately that I finally decided to give one a try myself. This design turned out so cute and festive, and with all the luxurious details, it truly earns the name: an Above and Beyond Christmas Card.

To make this card feel extra special, I used White Velvet paper to die-cut the doves, giving them the softest, snow-kissed look. The background is created with Old Olive Two-Toned cardstock that I embossed, then lightly sanded with a buffer block—yes, exactly like the kind you use on your nails! That little bit of sanding brings out a beautifully distressed effect that looks both textured and polished.

The final touch is the pop-up element that brings the whole card to life. It adds such a fun surprise when the card is opened and is much easier to create than it looks.

I’ve included a full video tutorial where I walk you through each step, including how to use the Hybrid Embossing Folder and Dies to cut out the label window and emboss the front of your card in one pass. You’ll also see exactly how to assemble the pop-up feature so you can follow along with confidence.
