A Fall Weekend in South Bend 🍂🏈

Last weekend, we headed up to South Bend, Indiana to visit family—and as always, it was such a fun getaway! They’re big college football fans (just like us!), so visiting in the fall is extra special. We get to enjoy crisp air, changing leaves, and that unmistakable Midwest game-day energy. The Notre Dame campus is always beautiful this time of year and never fails to impress.

My cousin’s daughter is now a junior at St. Mary’s College, and she proudly gave us a tour of her dorm. She’s thrilled to have a single this year—a college milestone worth celebrating!

We spent plenty of time walking the Notre Dame and St. Mary’s campuses, soaking in the fall colors and the charming scenery. One evening, we attended a local play, Agatha Christie’s “The Unexpected Visitor”—a perfect choice for a cozy fall night out.

On Friday, we caught the Notre Dame Band warming up with section performances before stepping off to practice. The percussion section always steals the show for me! Saturday was all about football—this time, from the comfort of home.

My aunt and uncle have the most amazing Notre Dame–themed pub in their basement where friends and family gather to celebrate (or commiserate) after games. Thankfully, this week was a celebration! We were even allowed in since we left our Miami Hurricanes and Ohio State Buckeye gear at home. 😉

We always have such a great time in South Bend—full of laughter, family, and fall fun. We’re already planning our next visit for next year’s matchup when the Miami Hurricanes take on Notre Dame. This time, we’ll definitely be in the stands!
